When the mobile home furnace system is dispersing through its forced air system, the heated air enters the rooms through ports cut through the floor termed as registers. These are always on the floor since the unit is located under the structure and generally located near an interior wall. Then escaping air is permitted to vent through an opening in the roof referred to as a roof jack.

A mobile home furnace is managed by a thermostat just like one found in other types of homes. Systems have evolved over the years to the point that now they are considered high performance. That means that they carry an AFUE rating of 90% or better. The rating signifies the amount of heat that is retained without being lost to the outside atmosphere. Therefore, the higher the rating, the less you spend on heating costs.
